Good examples of paid newsletters?

I'm curious to find examples of people who are making money from paid newsletter subscriptions (like Substack).

There are some mentioned here, but wondering if there is more to add to the list? https://www.indiehackers.com/forum/great-paid-subscription-newsletters-ed88aefec8

Stratechery is great. +1 for that.

On a non-tech note, I'm told that Cleaning The Glass is good for basketball fans.

I literally just wrote a blog post about how to set up your own paid email subs newsletter :) - https://trolley.link/2019/03/03/paid-email-newsletter.html

I signed up for that the first time I saw it, largely based on the recommendations and testimonials from other folks I trust.

I'd like other similar ones also... I'm on a mission to read less average, temporary stuff (i.e. Hacker News frontpage) and more deep, timeless stuff. So paid newsletters feel a good fit for the type of info I want (assuming of course that paid==quality).

There are some big examples like Stratechery, but if you want an example that is successful but not crazy successful, I started a paid newsletter, as an extension of my other articles and publications, called Blogging Guide.

    https://bloggingguide.substack.com

It’s hosted on Substack, which is free and an amazing tool!

I’ve written a few articles on the experience you may find useful:

But generally, I’ve been surprised with the positive response! I’m well over 100 paid subscribers (and this is just in a few months!). Had you asked me when I started if I would have gotten a single subscriber, I would have been hesitant.

If your on the fence, I think now is the time to try it!

I’m not making a living doing it but I am slowly building my own media company geared toward my thousand true fans!
