So I have been marketing soccercruit.com on Twitter and Instagram since I committed to the idea in July. I have been trying to follow and connect with competitive soccer players looking for tools to help them in the recruiting process. So far I have gotten 45 beta signups and hope to launch the beta by the end of 2018.
However, the true $$$ in this business will be signing on the competitive soccer clubs. This will make Soccercruit both a B2C and B2B product and for the clubs it's a win-win as they not only get their players my software for free, they get to use our partnership as a marketing tactic when competing for local talent in their communities. I could talk more in depth about this, but I will save that until when I launch the club part of my product.
Anyways, yesterday I got a follow on both my personal and Soccercruit Twitter accounts. I decided to do a LinkedIn search for this individual as their Twitter location was Chicago, where I am located. After finding them, I noticed that in their volunteering section that they were part of the board of a rising competitive soccer club in the area. After researching the Club's website, I took a leap of faith and sent a connection request with a transparent note explaining how he had followed me on Twitter and how I would love to connect on how Soccercruit could help his club...
Just this morning he accepted the request, gave me his email, and said he would love to hear more about how Soccercruit could help his club and athletes! I know this is not a big deal but I wanted to share as an inspiration to spread the word on your product and see what comes of it. I had been holding off talking about it with clubs until I launched the athlete portion but I am happy I didn't let this opportunity pass. This is further validation that I am on the right track and I cannot wait to ship this product so that I can start helping these clubs and athletes in this niche.
it's not a big deal? pffft. some of us struggle to even come up with ideas to build... that's big news, man!!! you're one step closer to the big leagues! congrats.
Thank you!
right on! just keep doing the do!
Well done! This is the hardest part, and you will get more out of it in the long term.
Nice work! I think its that kind of opportunities that define the company and the sales approach.
Thank you! And yes I agree, I have a good feeling on who I need to contact now.
Awesome. Good luck with sales! I think that's the hardest part of the business hahaha
