πŸš— Hacking imposter syndrome β€” Conrad Lelubre of Intellifox hits $10k MRR

πŸ‘‰ Key points:

  • Sometimes you've just gotta get rid of your safety net.
  • It always seems impossible until you do it.
  • People don't generally feel much different on the other side of their goals.

πŸ’Έ Take it to the bank:

  • To beat imposter syndrome, create a system to remind you of your worth.
  • Game the system by setting your monetary goals in declining currencies. πŸ˜‚

@ConradL of Intellifox hit $10,000 MRR. Here's how he did it:

I'd heard that $10,000 per month was the number that I kinda needed to reach before focusing on a project full-time. I tried to get there for a while but it didn't work.

I had this feeling that if I just put myself in a position where failure wasn't an option, then I would succeed. So I went full-time with Intellifox anyway, pouring my last cents into the project. And that's when everything began to shift.

At that point, I could only dream about this kind of success. I couldn't fathom what it meant to have 100 customers. Like, how could 100 people benefit from what I do? $10,000 monthly recurring revenue felt impossible to reach.

Now that I have 300 customers I can't lie to myself. My work is good. People enjoy it. I'm helping them.

Life is too short to live with imposter syndrome. Still, it's easy to forget. That's why I created a Google Doc of the nice things people have said to me. I refer to it whenever I'm not feeling good and I try to take it in. It gives me the confidence to keep going, but I'll never completely believe it.

Now that I've hit this milestone, $10,000 is just a number. It doesn't translate to anything real in life. It doesn't make me any happier. I didn't even celebrate it. I'm still on the same journey. And I've still got this need in me to take it as far as possible.

To be honest, when I launched in May, my goal of $10,000 meant 9,300€. But now, that's only about 8,100€. Sorry America, right now your dollar-to-euro ratio sucks. But that's one way to achieve a goal, I guess β€” lower it.

Thank you @IndieJames for this fun opportunity!
One thing I forgot to mention is that I reached this number staying only in my "small" French market. I'm now starting to consider expanding to broader horizons ;-)
    We'll see what 2021 brings!

And also... I'm doing all of this from a van! I've been living for the last two years fulltime in a van and I'm loving it! https://whereby.com/blog/stories/the-man-who-launched-his-business-from-a-van
