I built Schedule Message — it lets teams schedule recurring messages in Slack and Google Chat. Standups, reminders, sprint reviews. Type /schedule, pick a cadence, it runs itself.
We're at 3,000+ users and a 4.9/5 rating, but most of that growth came from the Google Workspace Marketplace organically. I honestly don't fully understand why some weeks spike and others are flat.
Now I'm trying to be more deliberate about distribution and I'm stuck on a few things:
1. The product lives inside Google Chat and Slack — so traditional content marketing feels disconnected from where users actually discover tools like this. Is SEO even the right channel here, or is it all about Marketplace ranking?
2. We've tried posting in a few communities but it's hard to add value without it feeling like promotion. What's actually worked for you when your product lives inside another platform?
3. Word of mouth feels like it should work here — one person sets it up, the whole team sees it every day. But I haven't found a good way to encourage that loop intentionally.
Would genuinely love to hear how others have navigated this. Especially if you've built something that lives inside an existing platform (Slack, Notion, Figma, etc.) — that feels like a specific distribution problem I haven't seen written about much.
