How did you market your E-Book?

I have a e-book named The 1,000,000 views playbook that I'm selling at $0. It's all about how I achieved virality on TikTok to market my saas app (Spread).

Tiktok worked wonders for Spread, not so much for e-books sadly.

I'm not in it for the money. But I want to get these bad boys 'sold'...

How did you guys grow and sell your e-books online?

onlinebookclub.org is a good resource, you can pay to have it reviewed and marketed on the site with a huge community

      Thank you, much appreciated

what's your tiktok account? If you don't mind sharing. :)

Hahaha, ofcourse not. My TikTok account to promote Spread is a content marketing theme account (these tend to work best instead of straight up promotional type accounts). However recently I changed my username to the link of my new landingpage getspread.io

Hey Louis, congrats on your launch.

Went through the ebook and did not find anything on the virality example for your saas app? Would love to feature that as a case study on Growthunt

I only mentioned Spread at the very end after all the info

Hi there! I run a service named Bubblin [1] that publishes books on the web using the Superbook [2] format. The key difference of publishing a Superbook on the web vs. publishing a downloadable file (like PDF) on Amazon or Apple Books or even Gumroad is SEO.

Google search is still a God in terms of driving organic traffic. And if your book has reference-able search worthy content, then you should definitely consider publishing it like a Superbook. I’m on [email protected] if you like this or have any questions about it! 🤙🏻

Hey bro I've signed up but can't figure out how to upload my own e-book?

      Can you help me out?

BTW this is a really really really good idea man...

      1. 1

The upload and the editor side of our UI sucks right now. I'm sorry about this. Feel free to send me your file/manuscript in PDF, Word, or Markdown format and I'll upload the book for you directly into your Bubblin account.

My email address is shared on the parent comment.

I'd be interested to know too as I'm writing my first eBook now.

I am using LeanPub for my current book and my previous one, because it is optimized to publish books as soon as they are written, chapter by chapter.

But I am discovering Gumroad these days, and am considering selling my book there, it looks like a good platform.

I suggest that you go for it. I also publish on Leanpub and recently put my book for sale on Gumroad. If you do, be sure to export an unbranded ebook from Leanpub.

Thank you so much mate, this is great

      MUCH APPRECIATED

Any other tips on Amazon with e-books?

      1. 1

Yeah, reviews are really important for ranking/conversion. So in your Amazon copy, you should have some sort of call to action to ask the reader for a review. Also, if you can, it's great to have some sort of freebie/downloadable content. That way you can collect an email (if your goal is to build your email list), and also you can email your readers asking for a review.

I used this in my book, feel free to copy whatever you want:

Do You Have A Minute to Help Us Out?

        Dear Reader,

Thanks for taking the time to read this book. We hope you found it
        useful, insightful and enjoyable.
If you have a minute, could you help us out by leaving a review on Amazon?
Your review is incredibly important to the success of this book and our growing business. It only takes a few moments and we would be deeply grateful for your support.

If you've never left a review before, it's super simple:

STEP 1: Click or tap this button:
        [Amazon Review Form Button]
or type the following link in a browser:
        https://www.amazon.com/review/create-review?asin=[asin# goes here]
STEP 2: Sign in to Amazon if you aren't already signed in.
STEP 3: Choose your star rating and write a review. It doesn't have to be long, even a few words will do. The title is optional, so feel free to leave it blank.

Thank you for your help and support! It means a lot to us.
        Best Regards,
        Steven K.
