I randomly tweeted this story today. And I thought IH would appreciate the story as well.
Here it goes.
Saturday night. Oct 2019.
I was sitting in my dorm room. And I was broke.
I was also tired of relying on others for work. I wanted to capture all the upside of my efforts.
I knew how to get attention on Reddit. And I knew businesses always need promotion.
So I went with that.
I set up a landing page using Landen.co.
I added some examples of viral Reddit posts I did in the past.
I created a “productized service.”
Then I hunted it on Product Hunt myself.
A dismal launch day. Only 12 upvotes.
But, that weekend, 2 businesses found me that needed just what I could provide.
My standard plan was $199. So, I made $400 in a weekend.
At the time, that’s the most I’d ever made by myself.
I finally had money for groceries lol.
Parts of the product process were tedious. So I hired 2 friends via Instagram.
Then I designed the process for how we fulfill orders.
Looking back I realize, “Whoa, did I just become a business operator?”
(Pats self on back)
Long story short.
3 weeks followed and a few more customers came.
$885 in 4 weeks.

I stopped the business in December for a few reasons:
✨ But I did learn some valuable lessons:
(Twitter didn't see that 5th lesson because, ya know, character limit)
But yea, that's my lil story.
Hope you enjoyed it and learned a thing or two or three.
@antdke what an awesome story. It just shows what taking a small bit of action can do. I love your valuable lessons.
Nice, who's operating the business now?
No one at the moment. The website is still up. The problem still exists.
Do you want it?
im interested in it
I'm down to take this off your hands, please send me more information. My email is on my profile.
Cool, just sent you an email.
I’m also interested. Please send me a message with the details:

So ... how do you get attention on Reddit ? :)
Love it. Great advice about not selling time for money.
I'm a bit confused.
How long did you spend to build this? Doing a website builder is not that simple. And it's already a cash cow if the development is done?
@antdke confused as well.
Just tried your builder: it's so simple, yet effective!
It literally took me less than 20 clicks to get a super slick and complete landing.
Quite handy also the errors notification on top, to quickly spot things to fix.
If you work a bit on:
this could easily beat any other landing page creator out there (trust me, I've basically tried them all..)
Thanks for the feedback! You can already switch the images, just click on the Edit button next to "Product Display" in the respective section and then on "Media". @antdke thanks for the mention!
@scalarly sorry for the confusion. Landen.co isn’t my product. It’s a website builder I used to create my product.
