TL;DR 👉 he launched an LTD at the right moment, on the right platform
Although I've seen many LTDs that went on fire on AppSumo, like Plutio who made over $1MIL, Frase with almost $800K, or Publer with $700K, this one is special ... is a one-man show SaaS 😱
from all my stats I think this is the most profitable AppSumo deal ever 🤑
I'm talking about Nichesss who made over $100K in the first month alone 👇
Nichesss is a tool that does 2 things:
Building a SaaS early on in a fast-growing niche is making Nichesss founder $30K each month.
His users are made up of copywriters, small businesses, and marketing agencies who need content quickly.
His biggest Growth Strategy so far was listing the app on the most well-known SaaS Marketplace for LTD offers - AppSumo. This brought him over $100K in the first month alone.
The interesting part is how he leveraged the flow of users that came from AppSumo - by building a Facebook Group, and also by building an email database.
We know that after distribution comes retention and engagement. This is why Nichesss' story is so great, not only that he managed to generate a HUGE quick flow of revenue from AppSumo, but he was smart and kept his users engaged by building a community and sharing use cases, and product updates.
Although, previously, his Facebook Ads were profitable, bringing in $3 for each $1 spent. His main takeaway here is to constantly be testing - creatives, audiences, pricing, etc.
Some numbers:
The 16% Conversion rate from trial to paid is CRAZY 👀
So his Growth Strategy is to leverage top trends and build the distribution around an LTD offer. To increase the AOV he upsells them to higher tiers. To get them back and retain them on the platform he sends product updates. And to keep them engaged he is building an active community on Facebook Groups.
Nice case study but SaaS is about creating a repeatable monthly system/process. Appsumo campaigns are a one-time event that leaves you with a lifetime obligation.
Putting the phrases "SaaS" and "1 month" next to each other is rather nonsensical.
thanks ... this I believe is one of the best case studies of how to handle an LTD
they get 100 new signups and 16 paid accounts daily, which is as recurring as it gets
the master strategy was to use the lifetime deal to get awareness and paying users, fast, and then build a community around it... and it compounds, more and more ppl will use the app and refer it, and WOM will grow, and SEO will kick in, and so on...
his monthly expenses are around $2500/month even with all these LTDs
an insight with LTDs is that the MAU or DAU (daily active users) is really low, most of them (me included) have a FOMO around deals, but use the product from time to time
Great case study!
thanks, I also love this story
$100k per month, but the tool was launched back in December 2020.
So he had to work for that, no?
to be honest, is not $100K in MRR, it was just the first month
with 16 new paying users/day (480 per month * $19) it leads to a rather $9K in MRR
here is the full story if you are interested, I think it took him a couple of months to get it up and running
Thanks for this post.
Any links to the product itself and AppSumo page?
Yes. Here is the Appsumo link https://appsumo.com/products/marketplace-nichesss/
And their website https://nichesss.com/
Thanks! I wonder where you got the first screenshot from...
I'm not sure if this is the original source, but here is the full story.
