How To Get Beta Testers?

Congratulations on the upcoming launch! I clicked on the link to your website first before reading the rest of your post. The "become a beta tester" content doesn't explain anything that your app does. The content on that page could be written for any app that exists.
I would recommend making it enticing and help the users understand why they would want to spend time beta testing your app (what's in it for them). You may also want to focus on a specific niche starting out and targeting your beta language to that niche.
An app that is "building connection" "around your interest" is really broad. I would recommend that you "niche down" and focus on one specific interest that you want to target your app for (once you have that niche covered and working well, you can move to other niches). Once you have the target interest defined, I would then look at where people who have those interests gather (reddit, forums, twitter, etc.) and start building relationships and reaching out.

One other follow up, I didn't realize those were popups that I was seeing that could be closed. I would recommend just displaying the page without the popups.
