Hey, Indie Hackers!

After launching a new website, it's super important to get it showing up in search engine results quickly. By using modern tools and techniques, like AI-driven SEO strategies, you can speed this up a lot. Here are some key steps to help you get indexed and visible fast:

  1. Submit a Sitemap: Create and submit a sitemap to Google Search Console and other major search engines' Webmaster tools. A sitemap helps search engines rapidly discover and index all pages of your website.

  2. Optimize Website Content: Ensure your website content is rich, original, and relevant to target keywords. Use relevant keywords and phrases naturally to enhance search engine rankings. AI tools, like SEO AI, can analyze your content and suggest optimizations to improve its relevance and keyword usage.

  3. Set Up Proper Meta Tags: Each page should include appropriate title tags and meta descriptions, helping search engines understand the page's topic and content. Using AI to evaluate your meta tags can ensure they are compelling and keyword-optimized.

  4. Ensure Clear Website Structure: A well-structured website enhances user experience and facilitates effective crawling and indexing by search engine spiders. Use clear navigation structures and internal links to help spiders explore your site thoroughly. AI tools can help diagnose structural issues and recommend improvements.

  5. Use High-Quality External Links: Obtain external links from authoritative and relevant websites, which can boost your site's authority and rankings in search engines. AI can assist in identifying potential link-building opportunities by analyzing competitors and related industries.

  6. Utilize Social Media Platforms: Promote and share your content on social media to increase website exposure and traffic, indirectly impacting search engine rankings. AI tools can optimize your social media strategy by identifying the best times to post and the most engaging content formats.

  7. Monitor and Adjust Strategies: Regularly monitor your search engine rankings and traffic, and adjust your SEO strategy based on data. Continuous optimization and improvement are key to maintaining competitiveness in search engine results. AI-powered analytics tools can provide deep insights into your performance and suggest actionable improvements.

By following these steps and using AI-driven SEO tools, you can boost the chances of your new website getting indexed quickly and showing up high in search engine results. This will help drive more traffic and increase visibility for your site.

If your site is built on WordPress, RankMath is an SEO plugin which is an ideal addition to your artillery.

You can connect to your Google Search Console and most of the work is done for you via the plugin plus some optimising of your posts (it does a lot of handholding).

Do you have to submit sitemap multiple times to Google or once is enough? Great post. Thanks!

I think once your website changes (added or deleted a page for example), you'd need to update and resubmit the sitemap.

Hey, I add a new sitemap if I a) create a new website or change provider from e.g. Wordpress to Webflow b) add lots of new content, like blog articles, all at once.

Basically, if you make big changes to your website add a new sitemap 😉

        Thank you, both. That helps!

The steps I mentioned earlier are what I've applied to my new blog, which is now getting indexed quickly.

    1. Create Quality Content:
Keyword Research: Identify relevant keywords that users might search for to find your website.
High-Quality Content: Create valuable, original content that aligns with your keywords. Content can include blog posts, product descriptions, FAQs, etc.
    2. Optimize On-Page SEO:
Title Tags: Ensure each page has a unique, descriptive title tag including relevant keywords.
Meta Descriptions: Write compelling meta descriptions that encourage clicks from search engine results pages (SERPs).
Headers (H1, H2, etc.): Use headers to structure your content and include keywords naturally.
URL Structure: Create clean, descriptive URLs for each page.
    3. Submit Your Website to Search Engines:
Google Search Console: Submit your website to Google Search Console (GSC) and verify ownership. Use GSC to monitor and maintain your site’s presence in Google Search results.
Bing Webmaster Tools: Similarly, submit your site to Bing Webmaster Tools for indexing on Bing.
    4. Create a Sitemap:
XML Sitemap: Generate an XML sitemap that lists all pages on your site. Submit this sitemap to Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools to help search engines crawl and index your site more effectively.
    5. Build Backlinks:
Quality Backlinks: Acquire backlinks from reputable and relevant websites. This helps improve your site's authority and visibility in search results.
Social Media: Share your content on social media platforms to attract traffic and potential backlinks.
    6. Mobile-Friendly Design:
Ensure your website is responsive and mobile-friendly. Search engines prioritize mobile-friendly websites in their rankings.
    7. Speed Optimization:
Page Load Speed: Improve your site’s load speed as faster sites rank higher in search results. Use tools like Google PageSpeed Insights to identify and fix speed issues.
    8. Engage with Local SEO (if applicable):
Local Listings: If your business has a physical location, create and optimize local business listings on Google My Business and other local directories.
    9. Monitor and Adjust:
Analytics: Use tools like Google Analytics to monitor your website’s performance. Track visitor behavior, conversions, and search engine traffic.
SEO Audit: Periodically conduct SEO audits to identify and fix issues that may affect your site's visibility.
    10. Be Patient and Persistent:
SEO is an ongoing process. It takes time for search engines to crawl and index new content. Continuously optimize your site, create new content, and build authority over time.

Are these in order of importance? Feel like I did these basically backwards for www.joinorderly.com

    1. 1

There is 'no strict order rule', as long everything looks 'clean and sorted'.
What I mean is, for example all your blog articles are under
      -yourdomain.com/blog/articel1 etc.
-Your About Us page is under ..../about-us/
      etc.
If your CMS (e.g. Webflow) was done properly from the beginning then I wouldn't worry to much about the order.

i have been trying to get fabform.io to rank for form backend. I hate google :)

In order to ensure your new website gets indexed and appears in search engines promptly, you should submit your sitemap to Google Search Console, optimize for relevant keywords, confirm mobile-friendliness, and establish high-quality backlinks.

This is great. You can also start a blog or use other blogging platforms to add your link after you add value to their users.
