How worthwhile is Product Hunt?
So I actually added our product in Product Hunt Ship and haven't really gotten much traction at all. It seems to be a very B2C driven community and I was just wondering if IH (where I've gotten much more valuable feedback) has any experience on building an audience there.

As long as your product is relevant to the audience.
The last 3 I've submitted have all been top 3 on their day and have driven a ton of traffic/ sales.

Just remember to spend some time on your PH images, your product image should be eye-catching. My 3 products that got to the front page all had some sort of gif with bright colors and emojis (PH loves emojis.)
I think this is key to PH. My products that got featured were all for the maker/marketer crowd. For other products, I have had better success and engagement on the right subreddits.
Even the ones featured on PH don't bring in continued traffic after the initial spike for me. I'd say it's a great launch pad but don't rely solely on it.
Agreed, so many makers think when they get to the front page of PH that they can just sit back and ride the wave.
The reality is you will get 2-3 days of decent traffic and then nada.
PH isn't the only traffic source, there are dozens more.

It's good to know that even though it will bring good traffic, it's short-lived, so I need to prepare for that.
Which subreddits have you found? I've been looking into r/SideProject and r/Startups, but I haven't found one specific to the audience I'm hoping for, which is business-focused early adopters.
I think most people that have gotten traction from PH, have either leveraged their twitter followers or communicated heavily about the launch on other platforms before posting in PH. Of course, there is an exception to every rule, and there are people who hit traction by posting purely on PH.
If you are able to create hype around your product return from PH can be significant.
I don't think there is much value in it.
It is all about how much time you want to spend posting on it. What I notice is that flashy gifts are big there and I personally find it disturbing. Probably I am not their target market.

You also have an interesting product, but I'll be honest with you, we're a small team and we're putting all our time and effort on this launch, so I know I won't be able to give you my full attention right now. But I'll keep you in mind for when we start adding more integrations and start building partnerships. :)

I personally don't think Product Hunt is a good platform. It really much depends. For example, if you have a product for a local market. ProductHunt probably won't work.
I had a Ship pro membership and didn't find much value in it. Of all the channels I used, Ship had the least engagement.
Yeah, that has been our experience as well, so we just downgraded to the free version.
I suspect a lot of users buy upvotes for their PHs, and these seem to do well ? In any case i have found it next to useless for initial traffic. In contrast adding to Show HN usually brings a lot more traffic (ignore the comments). Reddit is also much better. For link traffic also consider AlternativeTo, they have a nice site.
