My mom asked me to estimate her kitchen renovation. I spent days rebuilding the same Excel formulas I'd used on every previous project like hollow block counts, concrete volumes, waste factors, all from scratch. Every revision meant doing it all over again.
I know how to write those formulas. I've written them dozens of times. That's exactly the problem. I kept writing the same thing over and over because every project is just different enough that a saved template breaks. Different wall heights, different number of openings, different floor area. One revision from the client and you're chasing updates across 10 different cells.
So I built Vestimate. The construction logic is permanently built in. You type the dimensions from your plan, it handles everything - CHB counts, concrete, rebar, roofing, plumbing, electrical. Plan gets revised? Update one number, everything recalculates. No formulas to rewrite. No broken cells.
Also added DPWH BOQ export since most of my market is in the Philippines doing government bids.
Launched this week. Got roasted on Reddit, got one genuine DM, and learned that netlify URLs are banned in Reddit messages. Zero paying users so far but it's out there.
If you're building something for a niche most SaaS builders ignore - I'd love to connect.
