I built MovieLoop to discover movies faster
Every movie night with my friends turned into 30 minutes of scrolling through Netflix or Prime before we watched anything. By the time we picked a film the mood was gone.
I built MovieLoop as a side project to solve this. Instead of static posters or long trailers you swipe through short clips that give you the vibe of a movie right away. If you like it you can save it to your watchlist. If not you just swipe to the next.
I also added filters by genre to narrow down faster. My goal is to make discovering movies easier and to bring the fun back to movie nights.
Would love to hear your thoughts from a maker perspective. Do you see this as solving a real pain point or just a nice extra?
Really interesting idea for discovering new movies . One thing I’d suggest is allowing users to configure in their profile which streaming platforms they have access to (e.g. Netflix, Prime). For example, if I like a clip but it’s only available on Prime and I only have Netflix, that would be a blocker.
Another cool addition could be a “new releases” mode — showing only the latest movies already available on streaming platforms. That would be super useful.

I could totally see myself using it on group movie nights where everyone wastes time debating.
One thought: maybe partner with watch-party apps or smart-TV integrations — could make adoption super smooth.

Thanks! For now I’m just pulling clips from YouTube and embedding them with iframes. Super simple, but it works.
