Hey Indie Hackers,
I’m building Normal Map Generator Online, a simple web tool to turn any image/texture into a normal map without installing anything.
Why it exists
When I’m prototyping materials, I don’t want to open a heavy app or fight a complex workflow. I wanted something fast: open a tab, drop an image, tweak, export.
What it does (today)
Generate a normal map from an image in the browser
Quick controls + preview
Export the result (PNG)
It’s free, and it already has 157 users.

I’d love your feedback
What “must-have” feature should I build next? (tiling/seamless, presets for Unity/Unreal/Godot, batch export, better controls, other map types like height/roughness, etc.)
What makes you trust a normal map tool’s output quality?
Any workflow pain points you’d want a browser tool to solve?
If you try it and something looks off, tell me what input image you used and what you expected to see.
