I couldn't find a good free ASCII art tool, so I built one myself

I’m a full-stack developer who loves building fun, creative, and highly optimized tools. Today, I’m excited to share my latest side project: ASCII ART APP.
The Problem Recently, I needed to convert some images into ASCII art for a project. I realized that many existing tools out there are either ad-heavy, strictly paywalled, have usage limits, or just output poor-quality results. I wanted something clean, fast, and accessible to everyone.
The Solution So, I decided to scratch my own itch and build ASCII ART APP. It’s a completely free and unlimited generator that instantly converts any everyday image into a retro, text-based aesthetic.
Under the Hood 🛠️ To ensure the active application component is blazing fast, lightweight, and provides a highly responsive user experience, I chose to build it using Svelte. Writing the image-processing algorithm to run smoothly directly in the browser without lag was a really fun technical challenge.
