Yesterday, I launched ReStay, the MoR-agnostic retention engine I've been coding since April.
To my absolute shock, it hit #15 on the Indie Hackers Build Board. I was thrilled. But in the spirit of building in public, here is the raw reality of my metrics today:
Traffic: A nice spike from the IH community.
Signups: Exactly 0.
Emails: 1 (from a founder who smoothly pivoted into pitching me their own SaaS; not that I mind π ).
Honestly? I still see this as a massive win.
Iβm a solo, technical founder, and doing sales/marketing is entirely out of my comfort zone. But that one post and email conversation proved my core hypothesis: The biggest pain point isn't just churn. It's founders terrified of losing their historical data if they switch from Stripe to Paddle or Dodo Payments.
My next step is completely ignoring standard marketing. Instead, I'm going to start doing sniper-focused outreach to founders who are actively migrating billing platforms to see if I can solve their exact data continuity headache.
If you have ever launched on IH and got crickets on day two, how did you pivot to finding your first true Ideal Customer Profile?
I did get more valuable feedback and neutral reception from many other folks in the last 24 hours. Specially from r/SaaS. Thanks.
