Hey IH 👋
I travel a lot for work, and I kept noticing the same thing:
I'd book a flight, feel good about the price, and then a few days later I'd check again and it would be cheaper. Sometimes by $40… sometimes by $80+.
Most people don’t know this, but airlines will give you travel credit if the price drops after you book — you just have to manually check and request it.
I hated the idea of missing out on money for no reason. And I REALLY hated checking manually.
So I built FlightDrop.
Here’s what it does:
You forward your flight confirmation
We track the price behind the scenes
If it drops, we secure the airline credit for you automatically
You get notified when you save money
While building it, I learned:
Flight prices change constantly
Airlines almost never notify you
Most people never re-check their fare
Even small drops add up across a year
This is my first time launching in public and I’d love feedback from the IH community:
Would you use something like this?
What features matter most to you?
Any dealbreakers?
Happy to answer anything about the tech, the process, or the idea behind it.
Wondering how much money I have lost, if you keep historical data do you think we can find about that?
