Hey Indie Hackers 👋
Quick update on Pinly, the visual feedback tool I shared here recently.
After my first post, I had several conversations with:
small web agencies (2–10 people),
software houses,
and freelancers working mainly with WordPress clients (Fiverr / Upwork style).
Those calls completely changed how I think about the product.
Pinly is not for everyone.
Right now, I’m focusing on:
small agencies (2–10 people)
WordPress-focused teams
freelancers working with non-technical clients
These teams all had the same problem:
Feedback comes from emails, WhatsApp, screenshots, voice messages — and nothing is actionable.
Based on that feedback, I:
moved away from a flashy design,
simplified the color palette,
clarified the main use case,
added dedicated subpages instead of one long generic landing.
The goal wasn’t “prettier” — it was clearer.
The biggest insight from those calls:
Agencies don’t want another tool.
They want less explaining, less chasing, fewer misunderstandings.
That’s why I’m now redesigning the entire dashboard to feel:
calmer,
more “agency-friendly”,
less like a dev tool, more like a workflow tool.
After talking to agency owners, I’m exploring features like:
better handoff between feedback → task,
clearer client vs internal comments,
workflows tailored specifically for agencies and freelancers.
I’m intentionally not building everything yet — validating first.
If you run:
a small agency,
a WordPress-based workflow,
or work with non-technical clients,
I’d love your thoughts on:
what part of feedback collection wastes the most time for you?
what would make a tool like this a no-brainer?
