Hey folks,
I've re-checked IndieHacker after a long time of building a startup/product in private (SignHouse, if you're curious) and was super happy to see, on the sidebar, that this group is trending
Thought it's worth coming in to ask - as a moderator of r/SaaS, how can a subreddit be made better for you?
Add a flair - Show Off Saturday where people can post link of their product!
If I cant share something about my product, I dont join such subreddit because by the end of the day, we are indiehackers.
Self promo is more than welcome in the subreddit, as long as it's balanced with sharing value w/ the readers!
I am working on free tools site that has more than 100+ financial calculation related tools. Do you think it will be okay to share?
Site: Kody Tools
I have tried to promote https://fabform.io several times on reddit. The moderators in my opinion are too strict.
very nice
Thanks so much for the work you're doing!
My advice would be to add a greater selection of flairs.
This will prompt people to make more specific posts that align with the community's desires and would allow members to filter the subreddit with much greater accuracy and efficiency.
Here's some suggestions although running a 'request for flair ideas' post in the community would be best:
SaaS Tools, Integrations, Customer Acquisition, Feedback Request, User Onboarding, Product Launch, News, Productivity Tips, Scaling Strategies, Case Study
Hope this helps!
Congrats on the product - just signed up!

I'm a SaaS marketer with the Fordeer Invoice Order Printer product.
I'm a member of your Subreddit, there are actually too many rules and restrictions on Reddit. I wish there was a place for more people to talk about their products and their marketing and thoughts. It's a perfect environment and I know how hard it is for you to develop a Subreddit.
Actively share stories of problems you've encountered so members will find themselves there and they'll be ready to do it again with your team.
Thanks.
I'm a member of this subreddit already.
The active members count is low. I think you should start sharing about it on indie communities mainly Twitter etc. So the more people join, the more active users we get to see and active posts.
Hi Daniel, I am currently offering my SaaS vispr.net as a Lifetime deal with the help of group admins on Facebook as affiliates. There are so many groups that get great traction but most of them are much smaller than yours. Are you also recommending deals as an affiliate on Reddit or is that not a thing on that channel? Or would you accept me posting my deal in your group with a post that sparks a discussion around it?
FYI None of your promos work for me for the 1euro deal.
Hi, I just checked and they work fine. You need to use the codes that are stated in the pricing box. BIZ1 for Business Plan or PRO1 for the Pro plan. Thanks :)
I've actually been thinking about this specific thing for a bit: https://www.reddit.com/r/SaaS/comments/10yu19g/saas_deals_post_for_this_subreddit/
So it's about damn time we do it. Your post gave me the motivation to go ahead with it - check back the subreddit in 30 min and feel free to post that as a comment there!
Done! Feel free to post about it here: https://www.reddit.com/r/SaaS/comments/11angfj/monthly_post_saas_deals_offers/
Cool. Just in time for launching my product!
Come join us!
Hey dude, really a big fan of your SR. Have been following and posting since forever.
Heyyy! Glad to know that, thx for sharing the love 🧡
Courtland Allen is the founder of indiehackers.com. He didn't take the venture capital approach. He just wanted to make enough money to support what he was trying to do. Courtland was trying to build a community of indie hackers who would share their stories, help each other, and support one another.
Maybe start off on a topic you haven't been ready or feeling up to to talk about and that will totally have them engaged and emerged into the convo. Also it just makes a little change from what you might usually do:)
