At 14 I got an e-commerce store to #1 on Google Shopping in Sweden. Sounds great. The reality: I was 14, overwhelmed, and had no framework for deciding what mattered each day.
Three things I learned the hard way:
Traffic isn't the problem once you have product-market signal - knowing where it leaks is. I'd celebrate a traffic spike while my checkout quietly converted at half the rate it should.
Dashboards create a false sense of control. I had numbers everywhere and confused "looking at data" with "making decisions."
The bottleneck was never effort. I worked constantly. The bottleneck was direction - I just couldn't see it at the time.
That's the whole reason I'm building Gero OS now: the tool I needed at 14 and didn't have.
For those who've scaled something early - what's the one lesson you wish someone had forced on you sooner?
