I took LaunchFrame for a test drive

After months of refining I decided to test my B2B SaaS boilerplate on a real use-case. I needed a product that is simple enough to serve as a proof-of-concept, yet can stress test the main capabilities. An up-time monitor was a perfect use case. It has B2B2C (status page), multi-tenancy (a single user can monitor multiple products), crons and background jobs (alert when service is down, and notify when it has recovered).

Thus SleepWell was born. Took me 4 hours in total from init to deploy. Along the way I smoothed some friction points:

  1. The subscription plan features are saved to the database during local dev, and I needed a way to sync them to remote after initial deployment. I added a launchframe deploy:sync-features .

  2. I needed to handle logos and favicons across 3 different repos (website, admin portal, status page). I added launchframe dev:logo which takes an SVG file and automatically injects the logos and favicons to their respective repos.

The build itself was iterative with focused prompts to Claude. After each step it saved progress to an exec folder, allowing me to pass the torch to the next agent.

Overall it was fun to jump straight into building the product and gave me the motivation to build some more POCs similar to this: simple but functional. Next up I'll do a URL shortener.
