Idea: Custom URLs to receive short video messages

I am working on an idea that allows users to create custom URLs where people can record short video messages to them. Kind of like a voice mail, but in video form.

The idea is to add a more personable way of communication to our digital lives. With recorded video messages, we can see the other person and pick up social queues and feel the person, more so than emails. On the other hand, because it's not a video call, you can receive videos any time, and manage them more efficiently (videos are transcribed and searchable.)

Here's our landing page: https://howdy.page/ (I am creating other versions for different usage, for example, for hiring managers, or for social influencers to engage with their fans)

What do you think? Is this something you might use?

What is the use case? Nowadays almost every channel from where you share a URL you can share a video directly.

It's for when you want people you are not connected to already to be able to send you video messages. It's open-ended on one side.

An example would be if you are hiring, you can have job applicants send you a short video introducing themselves as part of the application. Another example: investors can ask startups to send 60-sec pitch videos to them.

Thanks! Yeah we saw this a few weeks ago. Nice product and very well designed and positioned! We are happy that there are other people working on this - a bit of third party validation for the idea ;)
