Most dashboards try to show everything.
What users actually need is to understand what matters right now.
I’ve been testing a different design direction:
One primary action per screen
Secondary data is hidden visually, not removed
Abstract indicators instead of raw metrics
System health is communicated through color and structure
Surprisingly, users understand more with less information.
Instead of reading numbers, they sense when something is off.
This mindset comes from treating software like a product, not a spreadsheet. We’ve applied this approach while working on automation-heavy tools and SaaS systems at Qwegle, particularly where operators require rapid clarity rather than dense dashboards.

Do you optimize dashboards for completeness or for instant comprehension?
