There was a post on IH the other day about alternatives to email drip campaigns to signups. At Across, we use a different strategy for improving trial conversions that I wanted to share!
We automatically send invitations to join shared Slack channels with us to everyone who signs up for a trial. This is far superior to a normal "Thank you for signing up, please let us know if you have any questions" email for multiple reasons:
We've automated the creation and invitation to the shared Slack channels, and some of our customers are also doing it as well - so far positive results!
Feel free to shoot me an email at kunal@acrossapp.com if you're interested in learning more

Nice! Has this increased conversions? If so, how much?
It's definitely improved engagement during trials. If you count "conversations" we can actually have with signups, that has increased 50%. It's too early to say on final conversions, but I think its promising
That's awesome. So once they join the channel, 50% more people are messaging you with questions? Or do you start the conversation with each user once they join the channel?
We sell a B2B product. We start the conversation, but its a pretty high touch trial anyway.
Cool, thanks for the info!
It's interesting but also seems overwhelming. Would love to find out more. π
