Are you tired of asking for feedback and getting responses like, "looks good", "I don't like it", and "maybe I'd use it if you had <unrelated feature>"?
Yeah, me too.
It can be a challenge to sift through piles of mediocre feedback to find the golden insights that will drive growth. Everyone has an opinion. But, when you're running a company – most of them simply don't matter.
Introducing Betterform: a platform that provides a structured process for getting actionable feedback from your most valuable customers. These are the users who log in every day, make frequent purchases, actively promote your brand on social media, or are otherwise great advocates.
Betterform helps you connect with these highly engaged customers and facilitates async video interviews to answer any questions you may have. We make it easy to incentivize customers to share genuine feedback with product discounts, gift cards, or even a box of cookies.
The process is quick and simple.
Our proven methodology, inspired by the success of companies like Superhuman, helps you cut through the noise and discover what matters 10x faster.
At least, that's the goal. =)
I'd love to hear the pain points you've all seen while gathering feedback. It can be tough in the trenches of building a startup. Does this resonate with you?
"Looks good!"
Just kidding, sounds like an interesting concept, how do you guys plan to handle the segmentation side of things?
Would users have to respond with video messages?
Haha, thanks!
We'll handle the segmentation on a case-by-case since it depends heavily on the company's industry & the data that's available. It'll be easiest to segment when there's detailed event tracking available through tools like Mixpanel, Segment, Google, etc... but there are a ton of signals we can leverage to narrow down the list of users.
We're still exploring the video message requirement. In our market research experience, the most thoughtful & authentic insight comes from video interviews. Mix in a few quantitative questions and you get a well-rounded picture.
That said, it may mean a lower response rate and higher participant incentives – but we think it's worth it for higher-quality responses overall.
That's true.
Feedback are the steering device for navigating in the ocean of startups (where the fuel are the ability to execute).
My giveaway for you
1- Use metrics as similar to TF-IDF -> which measure how much feedback is different from others; thus revealing new insights.
2- highlight founders their action with related to the data feedback. (in the same direction/opposite). use GPT abilities to reason about it.
It will be great if you do this as open-source project! I'd like to participate and use it as beta user!
Really excited for you guys!
Flagging TF-IDF is a great callout – there are definitely some neat statistical tricks we can leverage to build relevancy scores and other metrics. We don't intend to open source at this stage, but we'll definitely let you know if that changes! Thanks for the feedback here.
I think you are tackling an interesting problem
My opinion is that people care mostly about them self so providing a gift 🎁 or something in return is good
But you also have the raving fans who are passionate about your product and would love to provide feedback for free because you are solving a real problem for them
Yep! We're exploring interesting ways to compensate folks for their time & thoughts – from standard stuff like swag and giftcards to more quirky options like cookies/snacks or product discounts / perks.
Fellow founder here, excited to be part of the IH community! Looking forward to growing with all of the other awesome teams on here.
