After seeing every "file converter" turn out to be a website that uploads your private files, caps the size, and shows ads, I built ConvertEase to do it all on-device. It converts and compresses images, video, PDFs, documents and audio, with no uploads, no size limits, no ads, and it works offline. It is live on the App Store and I am sharing the journey here. Would love feedback from other indie makers on distribution — organic and ASO so far. Site: https://fileconverterapp.com
Building everything on-device is a strong product decision.
Was there ever a point where supporting cloud processing would have made the product easier to grow, but you decided the tradeoff wasn't worth changing what ConvertEase stands for?
