Launching a mobile app? Stop right there. Read this first!

My name is Jade, and I've been a Mobile App Developer and Software Engineer for the past 7 years. I've helped tons of different companies and clients build and launch their mobile app ideas, and I want to help you do the same. Some of the brands I've worked with include MTV, Comedy Central, VH1, AllRecipes, HP, and many more.

Being a mobile developer, get approached with app ideas all the time. However, I noticed that most people think that all you need is a developer to bring your app to life, and you'll be rolling in cash.

I wanted to write an eBook to not only dispel that myth, but to educate those who are non-technical about how the app building process goes. How to go from concept to an actual revenue-generating app, and eventually a business.

I just launched the first version on Gumroad, and I've gotten a few sales and reviews so far which feels great. Most of the early sales came from my Twitter (@jaybedreamin). If you or anyone you know is thinking of building and launching an app, I would really appreciate you sharing this with them!

    Amazing Gumroad page @jaybedreamin

Started a Gumroad thread just now, would be fantastic to include your opinion!

Thanks Felix! Really appreciate that. As a developer and marketer, I love design and know how important it is when selling products or branding.

I checked out your thread and left some comments. Zlides look awesome, keep up the great work!

Sounds useful. It would be great to see a few chapters or some sample content.

Great point. I added some screenshots of a few pages on the Gumroad post, to hopefully offer some more insight into the contents of the book. Does that help a bit?

On the top right corner of the book cover on the landing page, there is a label "5 left". What does that mean?

Great question! This is how many books are remaining that will be sold at the current price. My launch rollout was 20 books. The price will go up once that counter runs out. Hope that helps!

Cool, I have placed an order. I hope it is worth it:-)

Hi, I am the working on pipfeed.com
I would love to see previews of a few chapters. Also any suggestions for pipfeed?

Whoa, this looks amazing! As an avid reader, this is definitely an app I would use. I also love that it's available for both platforms.

What are you doing for growth at the moment? How are you getting users?

      1. 1

Right now growth is mostly word of mouth and from communities like IH, PH, StartupSchool etc.

Our plan is to charge users a subscription for premium features.
Users can extend their trial by 7 days with each user they refer.

What do you think of this strategy?

        1. 2

I like this as a starting strategy. A buddy of mine created Readfeed, http://readfeed.com/

and he got lots of users by leveraging Facebook groups for readers. They can be a goldmine if used correctly.

I would also reach out to bloggers, tech writers etc and try to get press. Twitter also has a pretty solid reading community.

r/books and r/reading are also great subreddits to share the app.

          Good luck Shashank!

Sure, will try that. I have become a lot more active on Twitter now: https://twitter.com/itsshashank
I will follow those sub-reddits as well. Thanks.
