Launching SpriteLab - AI asset generator I built for my own games

Hey IH! 👋

Just launched SpriteLab and wanted to share the story.

The problem: I'm a solo game dev. I can code but can't draw. Every project hit the same wall - waiting for art. Freelancers took weeks, asset packs never fit my style, and my own art was... bad.

The solution: I built an AI tool that generates game-ready 2D sprites and 3D models in seconds. Weapons, characters, items, UI - multiple art styles, transparent backgrounds, ready to drop into Unity/Godot/Unreal.

Where I'm at:

  • Live at sprite-lab.com

  • 5 free credits to try

  • Getting first users and feedback

What's next: Looking for feedback from other devs. What asset types would be most useful? What's missing?

Happy to answer any questions about the tech stack (Next.js, Supabase, Stripe, Replicate API) or the building process!

I like the idea with the AI generated Asset generator. I think about also to develop a game in the next 2-3 years. This would be really helpful.

From my perspective, the landing page of your website seems a little too "overloaded". Also it is not really working, but for the first version i truly understand that not everything is perfect. I was intentionally clicking around and lost the interest after some seconds. The demo do not work at all, but i liked the idea behind that.

Hope my "perspective" helps a little bit to improve your idea :)
