How good are you in the machine learning and the modeling?
Hello! I am familiar with some packages such as jupyter, numpy, matplotlib,pandas.
That’s fantastic! What about the economical modeling? I want to model an enterprise doing business by buying the real estates at court auctions and selling them at the market price. I have a bunch of data: winning bids, average and min/max market prices per meter squared (the last two,I believe, may be interpreted as the first and the last percentile/decile), also I have the average number of days of sale. The idea is simulate a market price distribution, having supposed a type of distribution (it’s not normal, since it’s not symmetric relative to the average price), then draw a market price and multiply it by surface of an real estate object. Repeating this process, one can create a histogram of the gross margin and its’ mathematical expectation.
Days of sale average can be used to simulate a capital/liquidity constraint. Since I don’t have any information about the distribution of the average number of days of sale, I suppose it’s normal (it’s rational, because we’re talking about the average number, I believe the central limit theorem is on my side =) ). For example, the enterprise has 100k euro and the average number of days of sale is 60 days for a real estate subject to investment, then after this sum can only be reinvested in 60 days or something. The idea is the same — modeling the number of days of sale in order to see its’ impact on the gross margin.

Hi! I’ve been refining my programming skills with continuous learning and side projects, I’m looking for an opportunity where I can put those abilities (in particular mathematics) to work. math degree does not rely on python or R to perform numerical calculations and simulations, we used Matlab extensivley.
