Most People Misunderstand PII

On my PrivacyPromptAI website I also built a simple way to understand (and test) what counts as personal data.

PII isn’t just names or emails. It includes:

* IP addresses, dates, and IDs;

* Combinations of data that identify someone;

* Sensitive categories like health, political views, or biometrics.

And under GDPR, mishandling this data can lead to serious consequences.

The issue isn’t just about privacy. It’s also about the fact that people don’t know what they’re sharing in the first place.
