I started by documenting my reasons for building in public.
which in short are.
- I don't think I learn much on my own if I don't have a project
- I believe it's better to teach people about things by showing them.
- It keeps me humble to share my failures

I can only agree. With the hashtag you can find a lot of software developers and like-minded people!
top tip. It's just taken me several weeks to get my hacked twitter account back so I should start using it :)

Great attitude! I think, building in public makes you much faster, because you can get a lot more direct feedback, which helps you learn.
