No Team? No Budget? No Problem: A Simple GTM To Pre-Sell Your SaaS in 72 Hours

This guide helps solo SaaS founders with no team or budget pre-sell their product in 72 hours. It’s a clear, beginner-friendly plan to test your idea, get paying customers, and avoid wasting time. Here’s a quick summary:

  • Day 0: Find a small, frustrated niche (e.g., designers hating invoicing) on Reddit, Indie Hackers, or Twitter/X. Pick one outreach channel (cold email for B2B, community posts for B2C).

  • Day 1: Send 50 personal messages to your niche offering a $1 beta spot. Build a simple landing page with a headline, 3 pain points, a mockup, and a “Reserve for $1” button

  • Day 2 : Ask signups to pay $5 to reserve their beta spot (refundable). Offer $29 Beta or $99 Founder Tier plans. Track payments in Stripe.

  • Day 3 : If 5+ pay, build a simple MVP, focusing on one feature users want.

  • Track: Aim for 50 messages sent, 10+ replies, and 5+ paid users using free tools like Hunter.io and Google Sheets.

  • Rules: Don’t code until paid, charge early, keep your niche small and improve fast

If you succeed: Keep users happy, send more messages, and aim for 50 users in 4–6 weeks. Then cheers you got a really good SaaS product with you.

Note For Readers

Please note that this is just an exercise/workbook to help you get started with GTM. Nailing it will take time, but my goal is to help you make progress in a matter of weeks not months.

That’s why I’m building my main system playbook, the Founder Traction System, to help solo founders figure out marketing with a pre-built system that works without wasting money or time trying to figure it out alone.

The 72-Hour GTM is a beta program I created to help you prepare for fast execution once I launch the final version in a matter of weeks.s

Sign up for the Founders Traction System and I will send you over the beta program: https://wirehaired-protest-b61.notion.site/1e97648c55c880ddb946c598bdeda50f
