Hello Indie Hackers community,
I'm stepping into uncharted territory today by not only publishing my first post here but also starting my journey of building in public. It's been a year-long endeavor, where I spend my weekends and whenever I could find a spare moment building Notix, an advanced Notion web clipper. While it's far from perfect, I believe it's time to share it with the world and seek feedback.
Notix is a web clipper for Notion, and my attempt to make the Notion experience even better. I started Notix because I felt the existing solutions were either lacking features or unreliable. Furthermore, I also wanted to add some AI capabilities.
Here are the features that make Notix unique:
Marketing
I'm a developer and designer, and, to be honest, marketing isn't my strong suit. So, I'm faced with the challenge of getting Notix into the hands of users who can provide valuable feedback. I'm not entirely sure where to find my first users, but I'm eager to learn. My initial strategy involves investing in SEO to make Notix more discoverable. I also plan to reach out to online communities that might profit from Notix. So, if you have any suggestions or want to be one of the first to give Notix a try, I'm all ears.
Pricing
Notix is completely free to use at the moment. This allows you to test it out and provide feedback without any barriers. However, I do have plans to introduce pricing in the future. The idea is to offer different pricing tiers, starting at either 3 or 6 Euros per month, depending on the features you need. I am not sure though if that is too high or too low, or if the tool even provides enough value to users to pay for it.
I hope to get some users to test, and I also highly appreciate any kind of feedback or suggestions! It is great being part of such an awesome community!
Little update from a Notix partner: after sharing the extension on dedicated threads in platforms like Reddit an dasking some users to reviews, we are seeing an increase of sign-ups - at the moment around 20 per week! We know, this is not much, but a start.
Currently, we are talking to users to learn from their feedback and improve the software.
