Out of curiosity, how did you build this site? I wonder because it reminds me very much of: https://www.mojosaas.com/ and is there something out of the box that can create a site like this for me?

Hi, the idea is based on the site from Mojosaas (https://www.indiehackers.com/product/ely-fornoville/self-motivation--LqL4W4NpyLOZgJLYruA).
For the rest I used a free Bootstrap template and coded various parts myself. I am not sure if there is something like this out of the box.

    Hey @elyfornoville,

I like what you're doing here. Just being open and share your story to the world. Would love to follow up on how your're doing and not get turned away by dissapointments.

I like the way you present your journey with the various elements like the statistics overview and also the makerlog (didn't know about this cool tool)

Keep it up and hopefully you will reach your goal sooner then expected.

Thank you for your feedback. I appreciate this a lot.
I have no current deadline on the goal but the sooner the better.
MakerLog is a very nice tool indeed.

It looks great overall! A few little suggestions:

    • "Follow my journey to $50,000 in revenue" or "I'm trying to earn $50,000 in revenue" so that casual visitors aren't scared away by what looks like a fund-raising graphic a la Patreon or Kickstarter
    • There is a lot of plain, uninterrupted paragraph text. Throw in a short heading or two, or otherwise emphasize some of the existing text with a larger font? Either that or edit down for length. (When you are done, please @-mention me or send a message -- I'll be glad to proofread for idiomatic English.)
    • Maybe throw in a couple of exclamation points somewhere to convey the emotion that you have invested in this journey
    • "kickback" carries a negative connotation so it would be better to use "commission" or "finder's fee"
    • change the link color to something brighter like #95f1de

By the way, Wanderlost is a great name!

Thank you a lot for your feedback. I already made a few changes and will get working on the text very soon.

@Shawn I made the text on the home page much shorter so it's different from the welcome mail people receive after subscribing. Although I would like to explain a bit more clear what they can expect when signing up.

Great! Here's a suggested edit -- use / adjust / drop whatever you like:

"This is my journey in bootstrapping and monetizing an online business. My goal is to launch projects that solve real problems and generate $50,000 revenue. And to do it all in the open!

Sign up below to receive a monthly email where I'll share all of my successes and failures, the specific tools I used and how I used them."

Love it. Much stronger copy. Thank you very much.
Can I send you my copy of my welcome mail as well?
If I can do something for you? Let me know!

          1. 2

I'm glad you can use the suggestions! Feel free to email (it's in my profile). And thanks for the offer, I'll keep it in mind :-)

Hi! Thanks for subscribing. I still have to finetune the home page. Text will be shorter but didn't find the time today to fix it. Thanks for pointing out.
