Abhi here. I wanted to share what I've been hacking on lately.
We all know the job market is tough right now. But while looking into it, I realized something frustrating: Most "resume builders" are just glorified template editors. They help you make things look pretty, but they don't help you pass the ATS (Applicant Tracking System) or impress a human recruiter.
The problem isn't the font; it's the content.
So, I’m building Matcha Resume.
It’s an AI-powered tool that focuses purely on optimizing the quality of your resume content.
How it works:
Real-time Scoring: You upload a resume + a job description. The app analyzes the match and gives you a quality score.
Actionable Fixes: Instead of saying "improve your resume," it pinpoints specific bullet points. It flags passive voice, identifies missing quantified achievements (e.g., "increased sales by 20%"), and suggests missing keywords from the JD.
Live Editing: You fix the issues directly in the editor with AI assistance that preserves your actual experience (no hallucinations).
The Tech Stack: For those interested in the build:
Frontend: Next.js for the web app.
Backend/Auth: Supabase (loving the DX so far).
Mobile: Flutter for the cross-platform experience.
Where I need help: I’m currently refining the "Scoring" algorithm. For the builders here who have hired people: What is the #1 red flag you see on resumes that immediately makes you say "no"?
