Matcha Resume

I'm building Matcha Resume out of a personal frustration: millions of qualified candidates get rejected every day, not because they're unskilled, but because their resume didn't use the "right" keywords for an ATS bot or failed to impress a human recruiter in 6 seconds.

Most resume builders just sell templates. This doesn't solve the real problem: the content.

So, I'm building an AI-powered resume builder that provides actionable, specific feedback.

1. You upload your resume and a link to a job description.

2. The AI analyzes it and gives you a comprehensive quality score.

3. Instead of vague advice, it pinpoints exactly what to fix: "This bullet point is missing a quantified result," or "You're missing these 3 critical keywords from the job description".

We all know the job market is tough right now. But while looking into it, I realized something frustrating: Most "resume builders" are just glorified template editors. They help you make things look pretty, but they don't help you pass the ATS (Applicant Tracking System) or impress a human recruiter.

The problem isn't the font; it's the content.

So, I’m building Matcha Resume.

It’s an AI-powered tool that focuses purely on optimizing the quality of your resume content.

How it works:

1. Real-time Scoring: You upload a resume + a job description. The app analyzes the match and gives you a quality score.

2. Actionable Fixes: Instead of saying "improve your resume," it pinpoints specific bullet points. It flags passive voice, identifies missing quantified achievements (e.g., "increased sales by 20%"), and suggests missing keywords from the JD.

3. Live Editing: You fix the issues directly in the editor with AI assistance that preserves your actual experience (no hallucinations).

The Tech Stack: For those interested in the build:

• Frontend: Next.js for the web app.

• Backend/Auth: Supabase (loving the DX so far).

• Mobile: Flutter for the cross-platform experience.

Where I need help: I’m currently refining the "Scoring" algorithm. For the builders here who have hired people: What is the #1 red flag you see on resumes that immediately makes you say "no"?

I want to make sure Matcha catches those red flags.
