Seeking a tech cofounder for a validated product.
The plan is to build a chrome extension with great UI and landing page that allows users to attach notes to their emails.
Been a marketer for 5+ years, good network, run a consultation agency where we help founders get their first 1000 users, so confident that will get this product there too.
The idea is to grow this product to 10000 ARR and then flip it.
I already have access to indie hackers series with 200k + audience making it perfect for a build in public launch.
If you are interested in the opportunity, kindly reply and we can chat further.
Cheers!
Hey! Happy to chat! Here is more about me: https://www.indiehackers.com/post/experienced-cto-seeking-a-potential-cofounder-with-business-sales-marketing-background-and-idea-60ade3ee29
Is this the whole idea?
Allows users to attach notes to their emails. What do you have in mind actually?
If it's just adding notes i don't see why it's that useful that people would be willing to pay for it eventually.
While I have the same question, maybe it's not like 'attachments', but more like meta-data to help you keep track of your thoughts you had about the mail.
That's the only way it makes somewhat sense to me.
The question is would people pay for that?
In the end using a tool that can do a lot more like a CRM to keep track of contacts etc... and do a lot more would end up being an option people would actually pay for it. But just notes ??
If the idea is to make it free, collect a bunch of emails and users and then upgrade to a better monetisable idea then i think it's ok.
Can your share your email so we can talk?
Sure. Send me a mail at tejgarikapati@gmail.com
no point, there is no money in Chrome Extension without a business backing it up.
Not really! Grammarly, notion all started as chrome extension as a single feature. Much better than apps at this point.
Can name atleast 3 extensions that sold for 5 figures on acquire. One I personally worked with. Really depends on your acquisition strategy and marketing game.
Cheers
absolutely correct, but the one you are mentioning are the lucky 0.001%
for the rest 99.99% there is no money unless an existing business is backing the extension (by money I meant something bigger than a few toused $ a month)
plus Grammarly just happens to have a chrome extension, the business is the grammar part, and Notion become an actual success when moved away from chrome extension.
Can't figure out why salespeople don't go directly to businesses that can use some software improvements and can actually afford to pay for it instead of playing roulette with ideas that need millions to actually become something.
Respect your opinion. Still can't fully agree though. The user to product ratio is great for chrome extensions.
Huge market for chrome extension, no one is building them out of skepticism.
Maybe its tough, but something I have been comfortable building before and have experience.
Will go ahead with it. Hopefully will have the results to show them here.
Apart from that, agree to disagree.
It isn't really the 0.001%, not that rare tbh, if you have sources to back it up, different story.
Peace.
good luck with the project

people are not going to pay for a Chrome extension unless there is some very unique functionality in it that brings a lot of value, figuring out something like that is next to impossible as there are a lot of already-made extensions (that are free) and there are a lot of things that can bring value but are plain stupid as a chrome extension.
If by some miracle you manage to find something useful that does not exist the next big problem comes, if you bring it to market and it is actually usable there will be copies of it in 1-3 months top, so to actually make money you need to spend stupid amounts of them first to get market dominance very fast so you can stay relevant and protect your product (that is also very tricky to achieve) by adding a lot of additional features to stay one step in front of the competition.
This is why the only things that actually make money as an extension are the ones that are backed by a business, the business brings that value and the Chrome extension is just another way for the business to serve/interact with the customers.
but hey, if you think you will build the next million-dollar company with Chrome extension go ahead, you can always get lucky (like stupid amount of lucky), I just don't think the odds are in your favor, and relying on luck is not a good business plan.
