SF Weekly Meetup to Hack

As a solo founder with a full-time tech job — I sometimes get home after a long day and find I have trouble getting started on my projects. I’ve always been more motivated to work/build when I’m surrounded by other determined individuals — perhaps that synergistic environment engages me and gets me locked in to the tasks at hand.

Since so many of us are in SF, I’d love to arrange a weekly meet-up where we block out 3 hours to dedicate to working.

The first 30 minutes is dedicated to updates of projects. It’s a 5-minute powerpoint presentation on:

  • What you’re working on.
  • What you accomplished last week.
  • What challenges you ran into.
  • What you plan on accomplishing this week.

And the next 2 and a half hours is dedicated to hacking. It could happily go later depending on various factors.

I’ll host at my place on Wednesday @ 6pm.

I have a 1GB connection, and although the space isn’t the biggest, it’s quite accessible by bus/bike.

I’d like to limit the group to 6 people for now.

Please respond in the forum if you’re interested or email me at turingpro AT hotmail.com

I'd like to get this started by next Wednesday.

Cheers,
Marc

Worth combining, or different enough to keep separate?

      Ah, great find.

They're somewhat different use cases. One seems like a casual get together where you can drink adult based beverages late in the evening and hack.

I had wanted this meeting to be a bit more serious and focused. I'd like people to join this group with the intention of shipping code and the end of a few weeks/months.

Kind of a like an mini-incubator/support group.

Would happily combine the efforts, but I'm here to build :)

Also, just wanted to update that i've only heard back from one other indiehacker. So perhaps the other group might be a good starting point.

Feel free to ping me if you end up going through with this, and I'll come by if I can! Agreed about the other group possibly being a good starting point.

Sounds good and thanks for your support.

As of now, we only have 3 -- so not enough to start a club -- but I'll keep pushing. Will likely join the other group and try and find more serious individuals.
