Report
Hey folks, let’s start this week with the right questions:
Drop your project down here (with a link), and add your goal (measurable and realistic) as a comment in this post
For inboxes.app I plan on:
Hey @PatrickS, what do you mean by "set up some notifications on platforms for key words and try promoting the extension that way"?
Just curious as I curates growth strategies over at GrowthHunt.co and am interested to know this strategy that you are doing.
Cheers!
Funnily enough, it's what you're doing right now.
You choose relevant keywords, setup notifications if they appear somewhere, and when they do you try to think about a way of inserting your own product.
In your case keywords could be "growth" or "promote", websites targeted "indiehackers" and your comment is an example of how to push your own website without looking (too much) like that's what you are doing it.
You might just be missing the automatic notification step (some kind of service that scrapes your targeted website to notify you when someone's asking about growth strategies, etc).
That is really cool !
What are some tools that allow you to set notifications for keywords on certain platforms? Say on Indiehackers?
I'm pretty sure it's against the ToS of IndieHackers, so don't do it.
Big websites will probably have specific services that do it for you, irregardless of whether it's against their ToS or not (I'm sure you know not everybody who's trying to grow their product cares about ethics). If not, you can look up scraping services although it requires more set-up effort.
Thank you for the clarification. Just wondering how does @PatrickS do it
It's pretty much exactly what @Solf said, you set up tools to scan for words, and get notified when they come in.
Currently I'm using IFTTT to look for topics on reddit where I could maybe add some useful or valuable info. It's hooked in to Pushover which is a push notifications platform you can set up on your phone.
syften.com basically do that, but I don't think I need something as extensive as what they offer just yet. Maybe down the line.
Neat app - best of luck on your goals!
The project that I am working on is actually a book called The Psych Handbook.
Goals for this week would be to reach half of the completion and reach out to potential people who might be interested in it.
This is really interesting !
How are you planning to reach out to your potential users?
To find the potential users, I am going to test a bunch of acquisition channels such as Reddit, Twitter. Do you have any suggestions? :)
Sure I do.
Drop me a DM and I will give you a free access to my database GrowthHunt.co
I appreciate it, friend. While I followed you on Twitter, I can't seem to be able send a message. Can you take a look, please?
I've DM-ed you on Twitter!
https://serp.co/
I'll be working on https://www.mynotifier.app/ which is a super lightweight notification system.
It's in beta right now but the plan is to have it in production by the end of the week or the start of next. I've made a payment solution to test interest and fixed some things on the landing page to make it more clear what kind of product it is.
Next week I'll try to market it. It's not my strong suit but I'm learning 😁
@therealja hey Jonas, Love your product!
I'm happy to give you a free access to GrowthHunt.co to help you with your marketing if you are interested.
Cheers!
Hey, thanks man!
I would love to. I'll hit you up in the DM 😁
Damn, don't know why this post isnt getting more attention. This is the best seeming software product I've seen in a long time. Just signed up.
Thank you so much!
It'll only become better and with more features over time. A blog post on how to set it up is also coming very soon 😄
No project, but I am learning GraphQL this week. Picking up programming after almost 5 years exploring a different career path.
Wow! What was the other career path?
my username has it. worked as a product manager in few companies. and I love it.
now that I have knowledge of the product and business side, the ability to build web apps will be a superpower 😊
I’m going to work on validating my idea for a chrome extension that helps manage all those active tabs and schedule some time to finally manage that long list of saved articles.
Here’s a link to the landing page https://turbonav.com/. I have a few more items on my checklist to start validation.
After that I’ll start planning a small MVP, since this scratching my own itch.
I welcome any early feedback
Thanks for sharing, interesting project
glad you think so! thanks!
I think this example of how this founder validated his Saas and got to 400 signups and 5 initial sales of a product that is yet to exist can help you.
I've got a few more validation strategies where I've summarised the article down to a 3 mins read on GrowthHunt.co if you are interested.
Cheers and all the best!
Thanks! The article was interesting I have been thinking about creating a video. The founder talks about design superpowers. That’s something I don’t have since I come from an engineering background.
But I have been working on my non-existing design muscles. So I think eventually I’ll get there. I might explore the option of building a video using code with https://www.remotion.dev/
Also, great site you got with GrowthHunt. I’ve bookmarked it and will take a look.
Thanks for all the resources!
Still working on my project management tool. Initially beta launch was planned last month. I’m just surprised about how difficult it’s to launch a new product.
This week, on Thursday we are going to production with the beta.
So new product hunt and beta list posting in the way among with anything related to communicate on the launch.
If anyone has tips, I'll take it.
Hey @codeibrahima I've always considered Betalist but the price has always put me off. Have you launched on BL before? And if so did it give a good ROI? I've found that targeting free startup directories a month in advance is worth it and creates good traffic and sales if you can play the waiting game
I've never launch on BL. This is my first time. we'll see. Thanks for your tips
no worries
Great goals, link to the project?
Landing page and the app itself will be up on Thursday but you can check our blog https://blog.welti.io and check our journey on IH product page.
ps I can send you the startup directory from my database if its any help? Free of course.
Hello @RicArthur , thank very much. I've bought Spread the world directory here on indie hacker but we never know, you can send it to me. Find me on twitter @ibsylla13
Sure will do. I think theres some Product management channels in the database too if I remember rightly
@codeibrahima you might wanna check out these case studies:
Launching to 400 signups and 5 sales without a product
(Losing some money)[https://www.swyx.io/coding-career-launch/] to ensure a successful first launch ($25,000 in sales)
Use a waitlist to create pre-launch buzz
I've got more such case studies from other indiehackers and founders at GrowthHunt.co if you are interested. Happy to give you a free access to help your initial launch.
Cheers!
Hello @GrowthHunt thanks for you tips. I’m interested😊. Let me know how
Hey @codeibrahima if you can just drop your email here. I will be in touch with the access shortly.
Cheers!
Done and also following you on Twitter 👍🏼
I've just started working on a new devtool for web developers: repro.dev.
I launched the landing page today, so this week I'm focusing on getting early feedback and validating the idea. My goal for the end of this week is to also set out the scope of the MVP.
Love the design of your site!
Since you are working on a waiting list strategy, you might want to check out this case study to help you.
I've got more such case studies from other indiehackers and founders at GrowthHunt.co if you are interested. Happy to give you a free access to help your initial launch.
Cheers!
Project: Working on my relationships (I haven't been in my hometown for a year 😳)
Goal: Meet with 3 friends 🤙

This week weare a launching a new feature that will create double the value, no-coders will be able to use our templates.
We are also adding animations to our templates.

No-code - sweet! Will it be a online builder?
Bray!
No, we won't build anything.
Project: www.namy.ai
Goals for this week: finish the system to scrape about 10mio+ websites, process contents and generate better domain names
Working on onboarding 25 beta users for our first product (a 6-week online course delivered primarily via text message) and community (using Circle). Excited!
If not already done so check out https://www.reddit.com/r/alphaandbetausers/ and https://www.betabound.com/ . May help with the heavy lifting!
Working on Hallo.so a Twitter based CRM
Goal this week is to launch v3 of my alpha, with a big focus on DM's and lead pipeline
-Drag and and drop lead pipeline
-Searchable Direct Message Stream
-DM follow-up suggestions based on last contact
-Redo landing page with stronger positioning and new screenshots
This is a cool idea.
Thanks! I'm starting to build it in public on Twitter if you'd like to follow along and see progress - @eveningloop
I dig it. I'll follow.
Started working on https://botmenot.com/ Bot protection score tool, a couple of weeks ago.
This week, we started our social media presence:
https://www.facebook.com/botmenot
https://www.linkedin.com/company/botmenot/
https://twitter.com/BotMeNot_
https://www.instagram.com/botmenot_/
The goals:
Launched last week: contentforge.ai.
What I'll do this week:
https://frontfix.co
hey @saurominati, what makes you decide to go with ads on newsletter as one of your marketing strategies? Cheers
Hey @GrowthHunt , There are mainly two reasons for this:
Thanks for the info, @saurominati !
When finding newsletters to advertise in, what is the number of subscribers and percentage of open rate that would make you decide to go with them?
Newsletters with 1k to 3k subscribers and have a 40% Open rate and a 10% Click-through rate.
Hey @saurominati . Its a good idea to create a headline written for the Hacker News audience that links to your blog. And post it on Wednesday between 5 PM and 6 PM to get traction. FrontFix is ideal for HN so you're half way there!
Thanks for the suggestion, Arthur.
No worries @saurominati
Just put together the MVP for nameea.com, a collection of great brandable domain names that don't break the bank.
My todos/goals for the week involve nameea and my personal blog, but here it is:
PS: If anyone is looking for a name/domain for their next project take a look through nameea.com and let me know if you want one
Attention grabbing website @nickfrosty. Theres an issue with logo and the sticky header though. Before you start scrolling the logo is laid over the word in Brandable. Thats in firefox if its any help
Oooh glad you like the website! And thanks for the bug! And telling me which browser ;)
What grabbed you attention the most?
The blue! And the twirly far right in the header!
Wonderful!
the website has so much character, love it!
Thanks! Glad you like it :)
Don't completely agree. The theme colors could take some tweaking.
What do you think that tweaking should be?
The logo in the corner is under the headline text on the page. I also would remove the gif in the background and make the background white and make the text black and make the buttons blue instead of green. Everything else looks great though.

Market places for domains? Or for affordable brandable domains? Most domain marketplaces only charge very high prices. Often mid 4-5 figures for domains. People should not have to pay a months rent for a good domain name.
This comment was deleted 5 years ago.
There are lots of "calculators" out there that try to determine the value or a sale price of a domain name. And for domains that have backlinks, content, or an actual business behind them that can be really great.
I think a lot of it comes down to greed. A regular .com domain costs like $8 a year to register. When people pay $8 for a domain that they will only sell for $10k seems outrageous to me. Which is why I believe and created a product around getting good domain names for far more affordable prices. Some types of TLDs already have these types of similarly priced domains built in. For example, for my url shortener project sizable.io I bought shre.co for $125 for the first year. Then will pay like $30 a year to own the .co domain. This was a "premium" domain available from the registrar, most people can register a domain like this through a registrar. But you have to have the time, effort, and ideas to search for a good short domain that you like. Nameea.com aims to help cut down on the process of searching

Sometime ago I've built a 2D Galton board in Unity. This week I aim to build a 3D version.
https://volt.fm
I'm going to unsubtly validate an idea
I had an hour ago for a privacy-first API snapshot testing tool. Clobbered together a landing page here: ttps://www.iwanttobuildthis.com/ideas/1626275075704
For bump.email I’m working on:
Working on the distribution of a cool video series about Startup Advice directly from a Startup founder, he goes on giving advice about venture capital, team management, tools he uses to hire overseas, basically all the what's, how's, and why's of running a successful Startup!
The series is now on YouTube so my goal is to develop a successful distribution strategy!
This week I will publish at least one download template on my website https://www.lelinta.com/collections/shopify-theme or write a blog post, I hope Google can include it. The goal this week is to publish the content to be included by Google , My traffic has dropped, I hope to reverse the downward trend of website traffic
For my upcoming eBook (https://buildyourownspreadsheet.com) I'm getting in touch with early reviewers about their feedback. I also am going to set up the product in Gumroad where I am going to sell it through and update the website to include the payment form. All planning to release it for real next week. Fingers crossed!
Working on https://github.com/vechai/vechaiui ... I just released it on Reddit so next week I'll try to promote it and fix bugs
The main plan is to get more into the Twitter world and hook up with you guys. Reply with your Twitter handles so we can connect. @jamierstock
Working on a couple of things -
21 Days Challenge App - It's a habit tracker app, that helps you in creating new and sustainable habits. Currently working on new features to add social accountability.
This Week I Plan to Complete the UI for the new features.
Startups101 - it was a podcast that I started a couple of years back, could not continue it, but recommending the project with a monthly newsletter.
This week I plan to set up its website and newsletter infrastructure.
This week I start to build out the firewall rules pages for mudmap.io
Mudmap is a tool for managing multiple pfSense firewalls. Management of firewall rules, alias' and NAT is extremely important so I am excited to start on those parts.
I am also doing some cold outreach to get some customers on board.
Not a project yet but I need feedback on this idea of mine https://www.indiehackers.com/post/why-why-not-would-you-pay-for-a-service-that-fixes-your-hiring-process-0baf128dd8
For https://stoicapp.co/ I plan too:
Make your entourage a marketing asset - https://www.creworth.com/
Project: Active Trackers
Weekly Goal: Refine landing page design. It's currently a little bland.
Project: To track advances across deeptech startups that are solving problems and accelerating progress.
Goal for the week: Building an archive of a newsletter that I write at infinitiventures.substack.com
Since substack isn't a great fit for archiving, I'm building a website that I'm hoping to launch this week.
This week I'll be adding more value to https://communitable.xyz/#makers for end users by...
adding a swipefile of successful post indiemakers have created in communities (including some of the indiehackers very own)
researching and adding more communities and acquisition channels to the databases
If you want to sell or buy Micro-SaaS app go ahead. I am building newsletter(https://newsletter.microns.io/) where I promote startups to potential buyers. DM me if you are interested.
My goal is to attract a few subscribers and write first issue for them.
Working on terrace.so, a membership site/course maker for Notion
Goals for this week:
Working on the Daily App (thedailyapp.co)
Aim for the week:
Working on creating and launching my first product this week.
I've developed various projects for myself over the years but never got about releasing any of them. This main cause for this would be that I'm really not so good at marketing. And that led me to just continue to work on projects after projects, without letting any of them find its way to other people who might need them as well.
Last week when I came across a post over on IH about just going at it rather than letting fear keep you down, so I decided that I'd spent this entire week creating something I've wanted for a long time, making the landing page for it and then releasing it out in the open by the end of this week to others who'd find it useful as well.
As of right now, I'm around almost done with the process of developing the actual product that I've been working on. And hoping to get it out by the end of the week. After that the plan is to not over think about marketing and just release it on to places like ProductHunt, HackerNews and IndieHackers and over on related subreddits.
And once it's out, continue to develop the MVP further based on user feedback and think more about marking strategies post-release.
Im at 3% on my react native course on zerotomastery.io Im planning on reaching 10%!
I'm working on Notabase, a personal knowledge base for networked thinking.
My overarching goal for this week is to prepare to move Notabase into beta. Specifically:
Launched 170+ GPT-3 resources this week here https://www.producthunt.com/posts/170-gpt-3-resources
Working on Bito.host and aim to:
Well, here are my goals for my project Twayobiz
You can see it at https://twayobiz.com
Just launched a JS Library, SpacersJS -> https://github.com/actuallyakash/spacers
A library that adds spacers around an element, most use-cases are web page builders and no-code tools.
Working my blog https://everythingtech.dev/ and my goal is to write at least 5 articles this week!
Seasons Journaling - theseasonsapp.com
I work on Olwi, for this week I plan to review all the feedback I got to prioritize the next features to build.
Project: CareerSwitchToCoding.com
Goals:
