Smart Shopping List app feedback

Hi,

I created an iOS app that I've been using myself for some time as a shopping list. Now I'm looking for first customers of the app and feedback on what I can add or improve in the future versions.

It's an MVP that focuses on two main features that, I think, make it unique:

  • It remembers the order of products that you had on your list before. That makes it easy to collect the items in the right order when you're in the store.
  • When adding item to the list it gives you suggestions which products to add. These suggestions are based on your shopping habits (i.e. how frequently you buy each product)

You can check it out here or find more details on IH product page

I hope some of you will find it useful too.
Thanks a lot for any feedback or suggestions!

    Hey,
The idea looks nice, though the competition seems to be tough in this segment. Did you think how is the app sustainably different from other products on the market?
And did you conduct any JTBD interviews with your potential customers?

Hi, thanks, my idea here was to make an app that is minimalistic and intuitive while providing a few smart features that work in the background to help the user.

I must admit that I didn't conduct any interviews or in depth research though. The reason is that my original motivation was to learn SwiftUI technology while making the app that will be helpful for me. But then I came to the conclusion that if app is so helpful for me it may provide value for other users too.

Makes total sense! There are always guys like we are :) however worth keeping in mind that, as they say, "we are not our customers" - sometimes it can create barriers for growth

I've recently seen an IH marketplace to find a special researcher who can help with these specific interviews, maybe you could find it useful as well https://ceed.bubbleapps.io/

Totally agree, that's why I decided to publish the app on places like IH to get some feedback from others.
And thanks for the recommendation, I'll check that marketplace out

    Hi Mateusz,

    I will try it.
With my wife we are using a shared "Notes" but, I think we need something different.

A quick one: Can you share a list with someone else?

Just in case, this is my last post:

For this, you can take a look at the application I prepared, and we use it with my wife.

Thanks for feedback, I hope the app will be helpful for you.
There's currently no option to share the list with someone else, but I think it's a great idea, I've added it to my app improvements list.

Just a suggestion: In order to make it easier for people to start using it, you may want to add an option to import a shopping list they already have. Also, there's a lack of proof for the believably factor. How do I know if the suggestions are reliable at all? Maybe a short video that gives concrete examples of a shopping list and shown suggestions would help here.

      Thanks for your comment.

      1. Import sounds like a good idea, did you mean copy-pasting the list for example or something more advanced?
      2. Regarding suggestions, my idea here was to make them recognise patterns like "I buy milk every Friday", so if I open app on Thursday it would show milk as one of the suggestions of items to be added to the list (just a nice reminder, not something 100% reliable). But as you suggested, it might be a good idea to create a video that will make it all clear. Anyway if you could explain what would be most important for you regarding the reliability of suggestions I would be really grateful.
