Hi everyone! My cofounder (Andrei) and I have a special announcement. Our app got featured on Techcrunch and Yahoo News! With this exciting news, I wanted to give you guys an inside look on how it actually got featured and the results/metrics from the articles.
As you may know, one of our favorite marketing channels is Reddit. We generally post on multiple music related subreddits getting a few views and upvotes per post. We love viewing all the comments, suggestions and improvements that we get on a daily basis. IMO Reddit is a fantastic, under-rated tool for testing out an idea and getting early-stage user feedback.
One night I posted on the “Internet is Beautiful” subreddit not thinking it would go anywhere. The next morning I wake up to see our user downloads spiked massively. I checked my reddit post and low and behold it ended up being the #1 Hottest post with over 500+ upvotes in a subreddit that had over a million members. I was shocked to say the least.
For transparency, here was the post’s performance:

We ended up getting a ton of feedback, comments and there were a few media and news writers that DMed us asking if they could write a piece on it. This is where Techcrunch and Yahoo news editors reached out.
