Software engineer interview prep site - what do you think?

Hey everybody! I've just "soft-launched" a new interview prep app for software engineers that lets engineers share their prep strategies for tech interviews:
https://devfirstsearch.com/

What do you think of the home page and user experience? Any comments, criticism or suggestions are welcome.

Thanks!

Cool idea. I think the UI works for developers. It's clear and efficient, no frills.

I'm no expert on this topic but I would do some research on SAT prep companies and how they monetize and present their offerings. Seems as though this info is has a similar value prop - take a scary unknown and reveal what to expect and how to prep so you increase your chances of success.

Thanks for the feedback! That could definitely be a good inspiration source (SAT prep)

Hi jsteen, here's just some of my thoughts:

    • "Learn how to prep for tech interviews" suggests something like learning courses or practice questions. Maybe instead something like "Share your tech interview story".
    • Along the same lines, maybe "Add your interview" could be "Share your story" to seem more personal.
    • Clicking through the items, it's a bit hard to keep track of which ones I've already looked at.
    • I'm not sure what the "Stage passed" column is telling me. A simple offer / no offer might be clearer. Do people want to share what they got offered?
    • If I was interviewing with a particular company, I would want to filter/sort to the specific company, and probably the specific role and department.
    • Everything works on mobile (iphone X) but I think it could look better. For example, I see unnecessary margins on the sides and some text like "Recent Interviews" wraps when it doesn't need to. "Online Assessment" is clipped.

    Good luck!
