SOVA — Offline AI Object Detection (Built From Scratch, 90% Accuracy)

Three years ago, driven by pure curiosity, I returned to programming after 25 years away.
Python and neural networks fascinated me — how far technology had come since my youth!

Step by step, I built my skills.
And then, in November 2024, life took a sudden turn — personal upheaval, new challenges.
Programming became my lifeline.

Originally, SOVA was meant to be a module inside a larger Industry 4.0 project — an autonomous assistant for engineers.
But financial reality forced me to pivot: SOVA became my first standalone project, and now, my first commercial offering.

What is SOVA?

  • Offline object detection — no cloud, no dependencies

  • 95% accuracy with just a few training samples

  • GUI for annotation, training, and detection

This is not just a product.
It’s the result of countless late nights, a rebuilt life, and a stubborn belief that small tools can do big things.

Listing "SOVA" on platforms like Gumroad and IndieHackers turned out to be like trying to sell a ship at a kite festival.

There's plenty of wind, plenty of dreams — but almost no buyers.

I reached out to those who create, not to those who pay.

And the difference between these two groups is like that between a poet and a publisher: one is inspired, the other is busy with reports.

    Conclusion:

Even if your product is smart and fully functional,

it can hover forever in the digital sky like a satellite with no signal.

The IT world more and more resembles a fairground of presentations,

where success is measured not by usefulness, but by how shiny the wrapper is.

    And maybe that's even funny.

    But it’s fine.

Those who understand — will find it.

And for everyone else... there's Product Hunt and the eternal search for the next "like" button.
