Tech founder seeking partner

Hey hackers,
I'm looking for someone to start working on a lifestyle business with, with the goal of eventually creating substantial profits relatively passively(<10hrs/week). I'm open to finding someone with any background, the most important thing is that you share my values about:

  • Focusing on design and UX as key differentiating factors from competitors.
  • Finding paying customers as quickly as possible and pivoting if that's not
    happening quickly.
  • Contributing similar amounts of value to the project.
  • Building in public.

About me
I'm a Software Engineer currently working for a startup in the Bay Area that recently went public. I have about six years experience working professionally and I've always worked at startups, I think I was born to do so. If you'd like to get sense of my ideas you can check out this post.

Try attending networking events focused on startups, entrepreneurship, and technology can be a great way to meet tech founders. Look for events in your local area, or consider attending industry conferences or meetups.

    Hey Fergal,

If you are open to other ideas like B2B Saas or similar then let's chat.

I have co-founded two starts up in Saas, one is more than $100k in revenue & other is more than $500k so far.

Let me know if you are okay for chat?

Hi, I'm new here but very familiar with the valuable community. The Wirecutter for AI idea is interesting. I've seen 1-2 similar ideas pop up in the past week alone. If you're interested in discussing content curation type of ideas, perhaps with a community/tech spin, I'm all ears.

    Hey Fergal,
    Your ideas are great.
If you are looking to build something amazing then think about this idea:
AI Bot who would apply for the jobs on user's behalf. So you basically build on-boarding form and take all the user details, CV and all. But then the bot would directly apply on LinkedIn, Indeed and other jobs website on behalf of the user. (This would be only applied on jobs which has Easy Apply option enabled). This is currently need of the hour for user's who have lost jobs and who are not able to apply on multiple platforms.

Hey Fergel, I'm a product designer with 3 years experience. Love the idea behind the Ai powered Wirecutter and podcast transcript.

I can design amazing easy to understand interfaces for any of the idea.

Should I hit you up through your email

    1. 1

Would you want to join forces as a co-founder/partner or contractor to build the products?

      1. 1

As Cofounder or contract, both are cool with me

But am looking forward to cofounding it together.

You has a wonderful ideas up there that I can't let go.

I'm really looking forward to partnering with you to build anyone you want to build first

        1. 1

I'm currently available to work on something about five hours a week. Is that similar to your bandwidth or are you wanting to go closer to full time on something?

          1. 1

I have 8 hours free every day to work outside office hours.

I don't know if that's fine with you?

  11. 1

Hello! I am also interested into teaming up and building some useful products. I would schedule a meeting for you if that is OK?

  12. 1

Tech too, 16 yrs experience. Nice to talk

Hey Steven, if you’d like to chat more you can email me at feargswalshatgmaildotcom

  13. 1

What are the different ways you've been searching for a co-founder? Any you've had the most success with?

  14. 1

Wirecutter on AI is my top pick of all your ideas followed by the Podcast Transcript site. If you could develop or find a software that could listen at scale to all the podcasts and transcribe every single one of them would make for a huge SEO website.

Scalability wise and feasibility though Wirecutter on AI is great. Only devils advocate thing that comes to mind right now is what will be the difference of displaying that data on your site vs. somebody going to chatGPT and typing in best restaurants 65' Televisions ?

    1. 2

For what it's worth, I had a similar project to 'Podcast Transcript' in the past where I wanted to add closed caption to podcasts on the fly. The difficult part was when someone was speaking over music. I used Watson from IBM for testing and at the time, results weren't great. The analogy was like separating the white and the yolk of an egg once you made an omelette with it.

The friend with which I was working on this project kept repeating me that this was impossible, which didn't help lol.

Finally, Google came out with exactly this on YouTube a few months later. You can now translate speech to text for about 2 pennies per minutes.

      1. 1

So did it die out? Do you want help or funding to re-start it and see if we can arbitrage it to be profitable using the top 1,000 podcasts?

        1. 2

Hi Charto911! Thanks for asking! It did, indeed, died. I really appreciate your offer and might come back at you with different ideas, but as the podcast's project date back a few years now, the fruit has fallen from the tree a long time ago lol!

Thanks again for your time and looking forward to share new ideas with you.
