You could change the word “design” for “community” and a lot of this would make a ton of sense:
That was the decade of code. Now, we are moving into the decade of
community: One where community, not just code, is at the center of product development and successful organizations.
Companies like YEN (!!!), Zoom, and many others are changing not only who buys and deploys software and how we work, but also our fundamental, table-stakes expectations for what a great product is.
We expect better, we deserve better, we demand better… it’s no longer optional to have good community.
I’m calling it… by the year 2030 we’ll be seeing much more about how this decade was, truly, the decade of community-centric thinking.
