The first 3 months as an Indie Hacker with RubyOnRailsJobs

In June 2022, I launched RoRJobs with a simple mission: Help Ruby developers find their next freelance mission, job, internship...
I wanted to share with you the successes and failures (also called learnings 😅) of my 3 first months as an IndieHacker.

    Thanks for sharing your story!

I just started to build a niche job board for developers in Montreal, and I can take a lot from what you’ve learned. I started focusing on SEO and writing content (blog posts) which hopefully will bring me some organic traffic.

I’m also thinking about doing the same move as you: offering a “reverse job board” to feature developer profiles to companies. I love this business model :)

Congratulations on the first three months! What an exciting ride it's been.

I love that you're stepping into the "reverse" job board space. I'm the founder of RailsDevs – thanks for the shoutout. (Although I think the link might be broken...)

If you ever want to team up or partner on something let me know. Would love to collaborate.

I really like some of the features of this site. It's a breath of fresh air compared to some of the cookie-cutter job boards out there. I run dotnetremote.com and will probably steal some of them :)

Seems like SEO is really working out for you. One idea might be to let developers who have profiles write blog posts under their names and promote them on the site. Could be a quick way to accumulate relevant SEO content on the site.

Thank you feel to steal 🥳
That's an amazing idea for blog posts thank you 🙏 I know what to do this weekend

Cool project! You're doing a great job helping people find work! I'm doing a site with a curated list of useful links about Ruby & Ruby on Rails: www.rubyandrails.info.

I will definitely add your site if I make a page related to job search

Just a thought, It'd be great to find ruby on rails devs based on the projects they make. I'm running BetterSheets.co and constantly looking for RoR devs who I can pay a few hundred dollars or a thousand bucks and get them to build one page, or one feature for me.

For example, I'd like to create a page that generates something from a google sheet. Like a PDF, or a beautiful screenshot.

That's a good idea to add projects. And it would give me new companies using Rails to add on the platform
