The Green Label: How To Break Your Idea Addiction

The Green Label: How To Break Your Idea Addiction – Indie Hackers

Hay that's a great solution I have been facing the same problem myself... I guess this solution is somewhat similar to Peter levels one idea a month...

One thing tough, I recently shifted to using trello, what workflow do you use... I followed a strict GTD on onenote for quite some time but its too, lets say, extreme...

Do you create a separate board for each new project?? How do you maintain personal development projects like exercise and readings.?? Also how do you store references to cool stuff i. E. Articles, apps, website designs etc. One note is pretty cool but their mobile app is not that great...

Sorry for these questions but you seem to be a power user of trello...

@eff Yes I have been using Trello for more than 5 years.

      • If we take the Green Label rule I've created I implement it as follows. 1 Board with all my ideas. There are a few columns in here as some ideas fit into different categories.
      • Once the Green label has been assigned I then have another board just for the Green Label idea. This becomes where I track tasks such as building the site, making changes, emailing potential customers etc.
-I try to keep it as simple as possible and have a system for this approach.

I do have board for other links I find or articles I want to read. The feature I use a lot is the email to board feature. So I have a few saved in my email contacts and when I find articles or ideas I can just email then to the board.

Let me know if you have any further questions about this strategy.

        thanks for the reply @PatGW,

Few questions tough, how/when do you analyse sort through the ideas and references. Is this something you schedule or not.

what do you do for small projects, I define projects as something that has recurring and many small tasks. So writing an article is a project. you research, write, edit and it takes time. lets call them small_projects for now, as opposed to big_projects like web app creation..

How do you deal with small_projects, do you create a card for each of them and write subtasks on it??

What do you do with a big_project board thats completed, do you archive them..

Also I assume you dont maintain personal_development projects like exercise, learning a skill etc on trello? correct me if I am wrong??
