One mistake I see new founders make is thinking they need to come up with an idea nobody has ever built before. That's usually not how it works. You don't need a unique app idea. You need a reason for people to choose yours.
Look at calorie-tracking apps. MyFitnessPal made calorie tracking popular. Then came apps like Cal AI ($2M/month) and BitePal ($900K/month).

They didn't invent calorie tracking. They took an existing idea and built their own version with: AI-powered food tracking and a simpler experience.
And there are still more opportunities. Take the AI calorie tracker - Food Scan as an example. They copied Cal AI and instead of competing directly in Western markets, they targeted Asian markets with localized food recognition and marketing.
Within a few months, they reached 100K+ downloads.

The idea doesn't have to be new. Don't spend months trying to invent something nobody has built.
Find an app idea that's already working and making money. Then build your own version, choose your market, create your brand and focus on distribution.
The opportunity isn't always in creating something new. Sometimes it's in doing something proven better.

I'd be happy to discuss your idea and help you think through it.
You don't have to validate the idea, just execute it better.
i am glad that you love it.
The reframe of 'you need a reason to choose yours, not a unique idea' is one I think about a lot, especially with something like an accountability tool where there's already a bunch of half-decent options out there. Curious how you'd think about the distribution side of this though, once you've picked a proven idea and built your version, isn't the actual bottleneck usually getting in front of people who are already using the original, rather than the build itself.
Spot on execution and distribution beat novelty almost every single time. Building in proven spaces eliminates the biggest startup risk: market validation.
actually it is
yeah they are printing a lot of money
i am happy to se that you like it
thanks
yeah it is
Well put and it is great to see that people put this forward!
thanks
Totally
Thanks for the kind words!
I've started creating a multiplayer AI platform where users can create shared rooms with an AI that can then be joined by other people. My aim as to make AI more like a member of your team/group rather than just something you use to find answers. Do you think this idea has any potential or would be useful for people like students? Also what kind of additional features might you expect?
I don't get it.
Ok
Spot on. Execution and regional localization matter far more than inventing a brand-new concept. Taking a proven model like classifieds and tailoring it with AI automation and multi-currency support for a specific underserved market is exactly how sustainable products scale.
I totally agree
Thanks you.
It works if you can execute them properly.
My pleasure.
Thanks!
Smart move.
Actually it is.
