I made a video about hiring 4 persons in my bootstrapped SaaS. People often ask me when and how to hire.
Well, I do not know lol. But here is what I've experienced. And can watch the video and learn from my mistakes.
Memes included!
I had this challenge as a solo maker! It's really tricky when on a budget for sure, cos you have to make sure people are happy, but also as indie, the pressure is totally on you to make it work
I found it was best when hiring for things I will not want to do.
But when I let people help with code an design, I end up listening more to other contributors, trying to make sure they are all happy... then in doing so, I have less involvement/happiness, and the direction of the product stops following my intuition which is what made it what it is to start with
I made it to minute 3 of your video, will watch it through when i get time, but a trasnscript would be good as I prefer text for this
Hi Graeme! πππ
I think me and you are just bad as managers π
P.S. You can read the video here if you do not want to watch me https://isora.me/hiring-in-bootstrapped-startup/
haha maybe! usually manager is one job though, I'm sure if it's all we did, with the past experience we would be okay.
For me: making + managing = bad manager
ah article one is great, the blog transition at the end to related posts is nice!
Thanks!!! Andre paid lots of attention to the transition while he was coding it.
I really hope you enjoy this. At first, I thought it will be boring. But after editing I just sat and watched it and it was kinda fun!
