Why we built this
We were tired of discovering “zombie” cloud resources (idle VMs, unattached volumes, forgotten services) that quietly ballooned cloud bills. Manual audits were too slow and expensive.
So we built Cloud Sweeper to automate the FinOps basics without risky automation. Instead of deleting anything, it tags resources (cloud-sweeper=true) and sends alerts — you stay in control.
How it works
🔍 Nightly scans of AWS CloudWatch & Azure Monitor to detect idle/forgotten resources
🔔 Sends alerts via webhooks (Slack, Teams, Jira, or your own endpoint)
🏷 Zero-risk approach: only tags resources, never deletes them
