Hey Indiehackers π
A few weeks ago my friend and I built an image versioning tool and reached out to designers/ux developers/people in the graphic community. We had also put up a post on indiehackers to get some feedback (original post: https://www.indiehackers.com/post/were-building-a-simple-image-version-control-902f6829c7)
π We quickly realized there wasn't a strong enough demand for our product, at least in it's current form. While some people did want to have previous versions, their version control pain points weren't enough for them to integrate out tools into their workflow.
π’ But it was a great learning experience. We spent 3 weeks total brainstorming, building and reaching out to test the idea.
πWe went to some restaurants recently and saw how some restaurants have QR codes and some have the old paper menus. We realized the tech we built for our image control product could easily be repurposed to help restaurants generate online QR Menus!
π We spent a few weeks updating our site for our new product and are now live! We're planning to integrate booking, ordering and payment features in the near future! We'd love any feedback on our site and product!
I like this pivot, I ran into the same thing where a QR menu sounds simple until the restaurant asks what happens after the menu changes next week. ScanLoop is the slice I'm building around that follow-on pain, editable destinations plus scan history after print, because owners usually care once they realize the table cards are live and totally unmeasured. Feels like you can win faster if the page shows less "we make QR menus" and more "you dont need to reprint or guess which code worked".
